Summary & background
The Club 142, as it is now stylised, is a members' social club in Poynton, Cheshire. Working with a very limited budget and a high degree of autonomy, I was able to bring what was a 19th/20th-century institution into the 21st century with great benefit for the 1,000+ members, staff and guests.
My place in the company
Starting very early in the IT trade with The Club 142 allowed a degree of flexibility that would have been otherwise impossible in a rapidly growing business. I was the principal implementer, architect and supporter of many now mission-critical systems.
These systems included a WPA2-Enterprise encrypted wireless network with RADIUS backend integrated with a bespoke membership and infrastructure management system, a door access control system with 2D barcode scanning capability, a web-integrated membership management backend, a secure online portal with card payment processing functionality, a PCI-compliant payments network, SIP telephony architecture with Tier 1 and Tier 2 ITSP interconnects, dynamically programmable IVR and SMS messaging systems.
Whilst I have now left this company, I retain many of their IT support and system contracts. I have a lot of very close colleagues working here.
